Jose O. Rodriguez, M.D., MBA, FAAP - Chairman of the Board
Born and raised in Puerto Rico and living in Georgia since 1981. Board Certified Pediatrician practicing in Cobb County since 1984. Faculty appointment in two medical schools teaching third and fourth year medical students in Pediatrics. Former Chairman of Pediatrics at WellStar Kennestone Hospital and former Chairman of the Board WellStar Kennestone Regional Board; Georgia Chapter American Academy of Pediatrics District #2 (Cobb and Douglas County) and Representative, Member of the Advisory Board Georgia Office of Child Advocate. Happily married since 1978 and proud father of two daughters physicians. Involved in Renovacion Conyugal since 2002. The Project has been helping me help others.
Jose J Capalleja - Chairman Volunteer Committee
Born in Havana, Cuba. Graduated from The Technical Institute of Industrial Electronic in 1978.
Resident of the United States since 1988.
Since 1998 works for Carl Black-Pontiac-Buick and GMC as a General Motors Certified Master Technician, and ASE Certified Master Automotive Technician.
Happily married with Betty since 1979 and father of Leandro, a senior at Georgia Institute of Technologies, and Laura a sophomore at Northview High School.
Involved in Renovacion Conyugal since 2002.
Betty Capalleja - Treasurer
Born in Havana, Cuba. Actively participant in "San Juan de Letran" Catholic Church’s community groups. Studied Cybernetics Mathematics during four years at the University of Havana.
Immigrated to The United States on 1988.
Graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science.on 1993.
Working since 1998, for The Coca-Cola Company, in Atlanta, GA, on the Information Technology department in the Global Development Group.
Happily married to Jose since 1979. We have two children, Leandro, a senior at Georgia Institute of Technologies, and Laura a sophomore at Northview High School.
Michael Urbina – Chairman Governance Committee
Moved to Georgia from Puerto Rico 10 years ago. Graduate from Georgia State University with a B.B.A. in Managerial Sciences. He is currently a second year law student at John Marshall Law School where he is a staff member of the Law Review, Service Committee Chairman of Phi Alpha Delta, and JMLS Peer Mentor. Mr. Urbina is the only Latino ever to be chosen as the Association for Corporate Counsel of America (ACC) Summer Associate. He has been involved with Renovacion Conyugal Inc. since 2001, was one of the founders of the Renovacion Juvenil project and has leaded this project since 2007.
Nicky Lopez – Chairman Fundraiser Committee
Nicky Lopez has been married since 1997 to Wilson Lopez and has two children. She says: “I have been working for large companies for most of my children's life and can understand the struggle of a working mother and the strain it places on family life. Most recently I worked in IT for ADP. From my work experience I have learned the importance of integrity, hard work and adaptability. But family is still the most important thing to me and in Renovacion Conyugal I have found people who share my values and principles. I participated in the "Taller de Parejas" workshop in 2002 and since then I fell in love with this project.”
Hernan Quevedo, Pbro, Ph.M - Chairman Programs Committee
Hernan Quevedo has a Bachelors Degree in Philosophy and a Bachelors Degree in Theology for the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. He also finished a Masters Degree in Canonic Law for the same institution. He completed studies in the areas of General Psychology, Pastoral Psychology, Psychology and Sexuality and Sociology.
He was ordained as Catholic Priest in the Archdiocese of Atlanta on January 11, 1997.
He worked for several years as a High School teacher. Since 1995, he has been working with the Hispanic immigrants’ communities in Georgia, particularly in the areas of families, couples and teens, having ample experience in this field.
He co-founded Renovacion Conyugal in March 2001.
In his own words: “Renovacion Conyugal is my life, my accomplishment and my emotional support from where I build my everyday as a person”.
Gisela M. Cordova - Board Secretary
Graduated from the School of Pharmacy, Medical Science Campus at the University of Puerto Rico. Has been working on medicine manufacturing during the last eighteen (18) years. At the present time works as Product Quality Administrator for Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Marietta, GA. She is the proud mother of three beautiful and talented kids, Giselle (22), Héctor (21) and Edgardo (17). She began participating in one of “Renovación Conyugal” programs, “Renovación Juvenil” as a volunteer on 2005. Two of her kids are also volunteers of the program. She became part of the Board of Directors in August 2009. In her own words: "I wish to offer the best of me for the continuous improvement of such a successful program that has touched and will continue touching the hearts of the Hispanic families".
Sandra Fantauzzi de Rodríguez- Chairman Education Committee
Born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. Graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in Nutrition and Dietetics. Resident of Georgia since 1981. Works for WellStar Health System and Kennesaw State University as Health Educator. Married to José O. Rodríguez, MD since 1978. Mother of 2 physician daughters. Member of Renovación Conyugal in Georgia since 2002.
Maria Lecaros - Chairman Marketing and Public Relations Committee
Has a degree in Business Administration. For 10 years, she worked as the General Manager of Mundo Hispanico, Georgia’s oldest Spanish language newspaper. Distributed in a select 31-county trade area to reach the largest concentration of Spanish speaking readers in Georgia. Under her management Mundo Hispanico grew it business from $500,000 in 1997, to $5.1 Millions in 2006. Maria is a management professional with proven track record of developing and executing strategies to build businesses.
She has more than 10 years of experience conducting business with the Hispanic Market. She describes herself as adept at seeing the big picture while also focusing on areas of detail critical to success. She is the proud mother of a beautiful daughter.
